The death of a family member or friend one can be a tragic and upsetting time. We are here to help you through the planning and the funeral service itself, but also afterwards when the dust has settled, there will always be someone to listen, to comfort you, to pray with you.
Some practical advice: The Church of England has an excellent website with helpful information about funerals. The first thing you need to do is to contact a Funeral Director who will organise the date and time of the service and pass your details to us. However, if you do want to get in touch directly you are more than welcome to do so. A member of the clergy will visit you at home and support you as you plan the service of celebration and remembrance for your loved one.
We will keep in touch with you following the service: we will visit you several weeks later to see how you’re doing and you’ll be invited to our annual All Saints’-Tide Memorial Service at the beginning of November. If you wish you may have the name of your relative written in the Memorial Books at our churches.
